Hello, I’m Gael,

I’m an experienced counsellor working in Edinburgh for the past 7+ years. I’m fully insured, and a practitioner member of the professional body, COSCA.

In 2023 I completed my doctorate at the University of Edinburgh where I researched how difficult it is to talk about experiences of trauma and loss, and the implications of this for talking therapies.

In addition to my one-to-one work with clients, I deliver workshops and facilitated groups on self-care, burnout, wild-therapy, reflective practice and maternal mental health. I also have significant experience teaching and supervising at The University of Edinburgh and Edinburgh College.

That’s a brief overview of me, as a professional, and here’s a bit about me, as a person:
I’m in my mid-thirties.
My pronouns are she/her.
As I child, I wanted to be a vet “when I grew up”.
I’m a friend, ally, inclusive-feminist, animal-lover, and new mum.
I like music, board games, outdoor swims, hikes, chocolate, and pizza.
I spent most of my twenties living on Jagera land, in Brisbane, Australia.
I’ve been in therapy, as a client, since 2015 and it’s helped me enormously.
