Hello, I’m Gael,

I’m an experienced counsellor working in Edinburgh for the past 7+ years. I’m fully insured, and a practitioner member of the professional body, COSCA.

In 2023 I completed my doctorate at the University of Edinburgh where I researched how difficult it is to talk about experiences of trauma and loss, and the implications of this in therapy. This informs my work with clients who are processing past trauma, complicated grief, and significant change.

In addition to my one-to-one work with clients, I deliver workshops and facilitated groups on self-care, trauma processing and perinatal mental health. I also have significant experience teaching and supervising at The University of Edinburgh and Edinburgh College.

That’s a brief overview of me, as a professional, and here’s a bit about me, as a person:
I’m in my mid-thirties.
My pronouns are she/her.
As I child, I wanted to be a vet “when I grew up”.
I’m a friend, ally, inclusive-feminist, animal-lover, and toddler mum.
I like music, outdoor swims, board games, time in nature, chocolate, and pizza.
I spent most of my twenties living on Jagera land, in Brisbane, Australia.
I’ve been in therapy, as a client, and it’s helped me enormously.
